Horror Games are far more terrifying than horror Movies. In horror movies you’re merely observing what is happening on the screen. You have no control over the character and what happens, you’re just an observer watching what the characters is doing, and whenever the characters do something that you wouldn’t do, you think that you would never end up in that certain situation.
Example – just like – oh!! No! Don’t go in there, well, see he deserved it.
I wouldn’t do something that stupid but in horror games you’re actively controlling the character. You are moving around trying to complete objectives and avoiding or killing the enemy. And while completing your objective, every choice you make that is your real time decision. This gives you a lot of responsibility and there is plenty chance of error which could result death of your character, causing you to repeat the section from which you’re afraid of, Also the intense sound effects, screen effects & the environment makes you feel like You are in there and whatever is happening in the game it’s just happening around you. I mean you are just experiencing everything in real time. This in my opinion makes it much more immersive and therefore that much easier to get scared in a horror game. I’m not saying horror movies aren’t scary, Yeah Horror movies are scary but not everyone feels scary .If anyone says “huh!! I don’t get scared by watching horror movies” but he/she will definitely get scared by playing a horror game.
For those who won’t like games
For them I will say PC & console games are different among all types of games. These games are so much realistic as like any movies. There are only two reasons which differentiate games from movies are CG graphics and you will get entire control over the game character.
Yeah some movies are also made of CG but you have no control over the character.
